Derrick Rose had just finished his game in the play-offs. His team was going to finals he was so elated that his team had won this game; if they were to win finals this would be their first NBA Championship since they had began to play for the “Chicago Bulls.” The team headed out to a restaurant called the “Happy Dragon” to celebrate it was a five-star restaurant that was highly exclusive.
“Noah good job out there tonight man way to give it to them.”
“No, D man that was all you those were some sweet assists you were passing me bro.”
“Why thank you.” He said “I am so ready to go against the Lakers for finals I know we are going to win Kobe has been playing worse than normal this season.”
Noah laughed “Maybe he is just getting too old.” They both burst into hardy laughter.
The next day the coach had called a meeting for all the players. Derrick got up early to make sure he was on time for the meeting; he didn’t want to make the coach mad. He didn’t want anything to jeopardize him starting in the finals.
“Alright ladies listen up, I am proud of you making it to the finals give yourselves a hand.” They all clapped and gave each other high-fives.
“Alright guys now I know we can win this thing, but we still have to practice so meet me here tomorrow at 9 o’clock in the morning.” Said the coach, “practice will end at 12:30, so clear your schedules.”
That next day the team was working hard in practice. The coach was very satisfied with their performance.
“Derrick when you are coming up the court I want you to kick it out to Noah, and then come around from the back get the ball and shoot the three.”
“Sure coach I can do that.” He replied “alright Noah lets go.”
They ran the play just as Derrick went to grab the ball he twisted his ankle. As he fell to the floor you could hear the bone pop in his ankle. He clasped onto the floor in agonizing pain. The team and coach ran to his aid.
“Oh!” he screamed from the floor
“Come on guys get him up.”
The medic checked his leg and said there was no way he could play in the finals in this condition. Derrick could not lead his team to a victory in the finals. This was a horrific situation what would happen without him?
